Create a new database

Introduction

This article describes how to create a new database.

Instructions

Follow these instructions to create a new database in RealtyWare:

Open RealtyWare.

Open the File menu and click on New Database....

You will be prompted to specify the location and name for the database connection file. This file represents the link to the actual database. Supply the location and name for the file and click on Save.

You will be prompted for the database connection and configuration details.

Click on OK.

RealtyWare will create and automatically open the new database.

Notes:

If you choose Microsoft SQL Server as database type, you'll have to install and configure the database server first (see Related Articles below).

If you choose Local Database File as database type, the database file will be created in the same location you have specified in step 3. Performance may degrade if the database file is located on a network share.
