Backup a database to a file

Introduction

This article describes how to backup a database.

Instructions

Follow these steps to perform a backup from within RealtyWare:

1. Start RealtyWare and open the database you wish to backup.
2. Open the Tools menu, select Database and click on Backup....
3. Click on the button labeled ... and specify the location and name of the backup file you want to create.
4. Optionally supply a password to protect the backup file.
5. Cick on OK to start the backup process.

Notes:

• You must log-in to RealtyWare as an administrator, the backup function is not available to standard users.
• The backup file can be saved or copied to a CD/DVD, USB memory stick, external hard disk or any other storage device.
